Hello,

This is my first message to the Bitcoin Development Mailing List.

Straight to the point: you might be familiar with the Blockstream Satellite=
=20
system, which broadcasts the Bitcoin blockchain globally. Blockstream uses=
=20
ground stations that receive a version of the blockchain from Blockstream's=
=20
infrastructure. Users can passively receive this data but cannot broadcast=
=20
transactions or contribute updates to the blockchain being transmitted.

My concern is the lack of decentralization and the reliance on a single=20
company. I=E2=80=99m only 16 and still learning, but I=E2=80=99m passionate=
 about improving=20
Bitcoin. I don=E2=80=99t fully understand how satellites work yet =E2=80=94=
 but inspired by=20
Elon Musk=E2=80=99s Starlink approach, I believe it's worth exploring the i=
dea of a=20
fully open-source, community-driven satellite communication system.

This system could allow users not only to receive but also to broadcast=20
transactions and synchronize blocks directly to and from full nodes in=20
space. That way, Bitcoin could truly function off-grid and without=20
dependency on centralized ISPs or infrastructure. It would make Bitcoin=20
more resilient, censorship-resistant, and globally accessible.

Of course, such a project would be very expensive and technically complex.=
=20
But perhaps it could be made possible through crowdfunding or support from=
=20
individuals passionate about decentralization and global freedom.

My dream is to see Bitcoin working *almost* offline =E2=80=94 powered by mi=
nimal=20
energy, generated through a small solar panel and paired with a satellite=
=20
dish. A full node that can send and receive data or even a singular device=
=20
exploring the blockchain or broadcasting a transaction, independent of=20
centralized networks =E2=80=94 truly decentralized and powered by the peopl=
e.

Thanks a lot for reading my message :)

Yours,
[Username not set yet :)]
