# Introduction
I originally planned on giving a talk. I started the bitcoin meetup here in Austin called Austin BitDevs now. It started really small. I moved to Austin 4-5 years ago. I knew there were some people here that liked bitcoin from twitter. I started a meetup, which I encourage all of you to do if you meet a similar situation. Now it's usually 100-200 people. It grows a little bit every year. It's particularly odd because it's a super technical meetup and it's hard to imagine that so many people find this stuff interesting. Every month, I'm surprised how many people show up. You wouldn't expect so many people to find it interesting.
